User is provided with serial number on license receiving process for a vendor product.
Serial number is an alphanumeric sequence which is necessary for the following options:
- Initial license installation on the computer before launching the application;
- License re-installation on the computer
- License update on the computer
There are two possible statuses for serial number:
- Active: user is able to get the license, activate the product and receive license updates
- Blocked: user is not able to get the license, activate the product and receive license updates
If the user has problems with a serial number, then it is necessary to check Serial number Event History.
Hardware data changing leads to necessity of increasing the quantity of serial number activations.
If the serial number is in public access, it must be blocked. Also if the serial number was blocked by mistake, it can be restored.
