General settings for network licenses search
Licensed applications running on the local computer can use common settings for network licenses search on other servers. To do this, GCC must be running on the local computer and applications must not use individual settings for network licenses search. In this case, users will be able to independently change the settings for network licenses search through the GCC interface.
Network licenses can be searched for either via the UDP protocol (the Broadcast search option) or directly according to the list of IP addresses (Display network licenses from other servers on the local network option). If the server addresses are unknown, it would be advisable to use a broadcast search, otherwise it is recommended to specify the IP addresses of the servers where the network licenses are located and disable the broadcast search.
In some cases, UDP message delivery may not work. In this case, it will also be necessary to explicitly specify the IP addresses of the servers with licenses. For example, when a client connects to a local network via VPN or routing to another subnet is configured. It is always recommended to use the IP address of the computer instead of the host name. When using a hostname, be aware of name resolution delays and poor compatibility across different platforms.
To change network license search settings, follow these steps:
- In the upper right corner, click the Settings icon.
- Enter your password and click Login.
- Select the Search for network licenses page.
- To search for network licenses installed on all computers within a single local network segment, set the Broadcast search switch to the On position.
- To search for network licenses installed on computers from the specified list, set the Display network licenses from other servers on the local network switch to the On position and specify one or more IP addresses.
- Click Submit.
Display network licenses from other servers
